Mr. Robert Ripley's Biography

Robert Ripley was born in Santa Rosa, California on December 25, 1890. While trying to make a career of his original passion, baseball, he found steady work as a cartoonist at the San Francisco Bulletin and later at the San Francisco Chronicle. He moved to New York in 1912, where he published his first comic for the The New York Globe and simultaneously tried out for the New York Giants baseball club.
